New school board trustee elected

Kathy Charchun has won the byelection for the vacant trustee position in Ward 1 of the Livingstone Range School Division.
Voters went to the polls on Oct. 4 in Ward 1, which includes Granum, Claresholm, Stavely and Nanton, and chose Charchun.
The results are:
• Kathy Charchun, 155 votes;
• Greg Graves, 113 votes;
• Cindy Pineo, 90 votes;
• Cody Lauscher, 66 votes;
• Joshua Richardson, 10 votes.
Charchun was a long-time educator and administrator who grew up and attended school in Nanton; worked in schools in Claresholm, Stavely, and Nanton; and lives in Claresholm.
