MLA not pleased with new electoral boundaries

The first poppies

The Claresholm branch of the Royal Canadian Legion’s annual poppy campaign began on Friday, Oct. 27, with the first poppy. At left is Doug MacPherson, mayor of Claresholm having a poppy pinned on by Margaret Smith, Legion president. Poppies will be on sale around town until the Remembrance Day service on Nov. 11.

Granum House Fire

Aftermath – Firefighters from three fire departments – Claresholm, Granum, and Fort Macleod –  battled a house fire blaze in Granum from 1 a.m. until morning on Oct. 22. Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution, there were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire, and at this time police and fire officials are investigating the cause. … Read more

Bottle and can drive

Major donation

The Claresholm Lions Club has provided a $25,000 donation for renovations to the Claresholm Arena. The Claresholm Minor Hockey Association has applied for a matching Community Facilities Enhancement Program grant to replace to ice slab/ boards and skate friendly flooring in the arena.
