For over 50 years, the Claresholm Meals on Wheels program has provided affordable, healthy nutritious meals to those unable to cook for themselves. This could include older adults, people with disabilities or those recently out of surgery.
Five days a week, Monday through Friday (including holidays), our meals are delivered by dedicated volunteers.
Since 1976, food services at the Claresholm Centre for Mental Health and Addictions have been preparing meals.
Menu selection is completed at initial sign-up and preferences are noted.
The program allows clients to receive however many meals they require each week.
Tailoring it to suit each person’s needs allows people to stay in their homes longer.
The only way this program can continue is through the dedication of our team of volunteers.
At present, Meals on Wheels is in desperate need of more drivers to deliver each day.
It only takes about one hour to complete the deliveries Monday through Friday.
If you are so inclined to help, please contact Helen Cook at 403-625-0330 or Debbie Lozeman at 403-625-9686.
Our shifts are very flexible; even one shift a month will help us out.
Every time a meal is delivered, a contact is made with the person.
It may be the only contact they have that day.
Delivering nutritious meals and friendly check-ins to clients provides a necessary social connection.
Please consider helping out our program.
