The Claresholm Atom Thunder came off their Christmas break strong and fresh, blowing out both teams they played on the weekend.

The Thunder hosted Picture Butte on Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Claresholm Arena, winning by a score of 14-0.

The Thunder took control early, leading 6-0 after the first period, then adding five goals in the second period and another three in the third.

Scoring for Claresholm were Seannon Ocampo, assisted by Blake Cisar and Keegan Scott; Scott, assisted by Cisar; Grayden Desjarlais, assisted by Joshua Gibson-Morrison; Desjarlais, assisted by Edward Franz; Desjarlais, unassisted; Franz, unassisted; Desjarlais, unassisted; Scott, assisted by Cisar and Ocampo; Cisar, unassisted; Jacob Penner, assisted by Desjarlais; Liam Schuler, assisted by Desjarlais; Scott, assisted by Cisar; Scott, assisted by Cisar; and Franz unassisted.

Goaltender Finn Buhmiller stopped 16 shots to earn the shut out.

The Thunder returned to home ice on Sunday, Jan. 6, defeating High Country by a score of 13-2.
