Senft, Bob

We regret to announce the passing of Bob Senft on August 15th 2018 after a short battle with cancer. Bob went peacefully and without pain, for which we will be forever grateful.

Bob was born in Claresholm on June 27th 1948 and lived much of his life in this community. He was a car guy, had a passion for the classics, and nothing made him happier than finding an opportunity to talk cars. He had a long career as a Parts Man with Ford dealerships, and was known for his incredible memory with numbers and his ability to track down even the most obscure car parts. He loved his work, and was always willing to go the extra mile for his customers.

Bob is survived by his son Chad, two grandchildren, Anthony and Alexis, also by his brother Gordon Senft (Janet) and “the cousins”, Gerri Link, Danny Clark, Ken Miers, and Carol Senft. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Myrtle Senft, his wife Gail Senft and cousins Barbara Morcom and Floyd Tratnik.

Bob was fortunate to have had so many caring people in his life and he also leaves behind his good friend Beulah Tratnik and her boys Richard and JC, his friend and neighbour Iris, and Brent Yeoman, a good and loyal man who made Bob’s last couple of years much enriched by his friendship.

We would be remiss if we did not express our gratitude to the “guys and gals” from Tim’s and Roy’s  who always had a kind word and a joke. You all made his last years in Claresholm happy and contented ones. Our thanks also go to the staff of the Integrated Home Care team, and to all of the Doctor’s, nurses, and other staff at the Claresholm General Hospital for going above and beyond to make his last days as good as possible. The last words Bob spoke to us when asked if he was comfortable and needed anything were “Good good. I am okay” and a thumbs up. We know that it was because of the incredible care that he received and we are very appreciative.

A donation to the Claresholm and District Health Foundation in Bob’s memory would honour him for any of his friends and family who may wish to.
