The difference was just one goal axs the Claresholm Initiation Thunder lost their first game of the season this past weekend in hockey action.
The Thunder hosted the Picture Butte Blades at the Claresholm Arena on Saturday, Jan. 20, losing by a close 9-8 score, after trailing 5-3 after the first period and 6-5 after two periods.
Scoring for Claresholm were Dexter Martin, unassisted; Ryan Peeters, unassisted; Brady Ring, assisted by Parker Gugala; Ethan Ferguson, assisted by Ring; Reid Fletcher, unassisted; Gugala, unassisted; Ferguson, unassisted; and Fletcher, unassisted.
