Cobras lose two games

The Willow Creek Composite High School senior varsity girls’ basketball team was in tough to open their season in the Deep South Conference last week, losing to two bigger, more experienced teams.

The Cobras hosted Picture Butte on Monday, Dec. 3, losing by a score of 61-18. Scoring for the Cobras were Capri Mitchell and Paige Van Dellen with seven points each; Katie Nickerson with three points; and Tia Woodruff hit a foul shot. The Cobras then hosted the Kate Andrews Pride of Coaldale on Wednesday, Dec. 5, losing by a score of 95-45. Scoring for Claresholm were Van Dellen with 12 points; Nickerson with nine points; Mitchell with eight points; Woodruff with seven points; Samantha Lybbert with five points; and Bailey Gustman with four points.

The next home game for the Cobras is Wednesday, Dec. 19 against Stirling. Tip off is at 4:15 p.m.
