McIntosh, Larry Dale

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry McIntosh. Larry, or “Mac” as he was known to many, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sue, and his daughters, Stephanie (Tim), Brenley, and Krista (Jesse).
Dad will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandpa, principal, and avid golfer. He began his career as a physical education teacher and, through his dedication and leadership, became a respected principal. Throughout his years in education, he touched the lives of countless students and staff.
In retirement, Dad continued to pursue his passion for golf. He played an incredible 130 rounds a year at the Claresholm Golf Club, where his friendship, humour, and familiar presence will be greatly missed.
One of Dad’s greatest joys was being Grandpa. He loved cheering on his grandchildren—Finnah, Mairyn, Owen, and Mason—as they pursued their passions in soccer and artistic swimming. He was always their biggest supporter, celebrating every success and proudly sharing their accomplishments with everyone.
Dad will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his wonderful stories, generous heart, and his well-known love of treats. His legacy of kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support will live on in the many lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad’s memory to the John Hasselfield Endowment Foundation www.johnhasselfield.com.
