The Willow Creek Composite High School junior high “A” boys’ volleyball team advanced all the way to the semi-finals of their post-season tournament.
The Cobras hosted the tournament on Friday, Oct. 30.
They went into the tournament seeded fourth drawing a first-round match against F.P. Walshe 2 of Fort Macleod who were seeded fifth.
Claresholm took the first set by a score of 25-12 and completed the sweep with a 25-22 win in the second set.
That victory put the Cobras in a semi-final against the top-ranked Matthew Halton Hawks of Pincher Creek.
The Cobras worked hard, but the Hawks were the number one team in the league for a reason, defeating Claresholm in straight sets.
That gave the Cobras a share of third place in the tournament.
Matthew Halton went on to win the tournament by defeating the F.P. Walshe 1 team of Fort Macleod in the final in straight sets.
