A familiar face will be leading the council of the Municipal District of Willow Creek for another year.
At its organizational meeting on Oct. 31, council elected Maryanne Sandberg, councillor for Division 3, reeve for another year.
“I will do my best,” she said. “And work with you all.”
Glen Alm, councillor for Division 4 was elected deputy reeve for another year.
“Thanks everybody,” he said.
Both Sandberg and Alm had been serving in those positions the last number of years.
Council also approved remuneration, or pay, for reeve and council, after hearing a report from Derrick Krizsan, the M.D.’s chief administrative officer.
He explained the current councillor base salary is $3,327.68 plus $60 for internet, $60 for cell phone and benefits that include ADD, Group Life, Health, Dental, EAP and an annual $1,000 in health-care spending.
The current reeve base salary is $4,278.45 per month.
Mileage to travel to meetings is paid at the current Canada Revenue Agency rate.
The councillors’ per diem is $100 per half day, at four hours, and $200 per full day, for more than four hours, for attending council-approved meetings, conferences and training in accordance with the council renumeration and expense policy.
An annual adjustment of base salary is based upon the same cost of living adjustment provided to staff of the M.D. of Willow Creek.
