Claresholm wins baseball championship

The Claresholm 2 baseball team recently came home with the Chinook West Majors League Championship.
The team, made up of players 11 and 12 years old, travelled to Sparwood the weekend of June 13 to 15, for the championship tournament which featured teams from Claresholm, Nanton, Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, the Crowsnest Pass, Sparwood and Fernie.
The Claresholm 2 team played against Sparwood, Nanton, Fort Macleod, who they defeated in the semi-final, and the Crowsnest Pass, who they defeated in the final.
For their efforts, the team was awarded gold hats for winning the championship.
The team consists of Weston Benna; Carlo Gillespie; Cache Gimber; Burke Husted; Quinn MacIntyre; Brayden McNeil; Luke Pittman; Bryatt Schuler; Rhet Schuler; Dakota Sundquist; and Alex Visser.
They are coached by Elizabeth Klapp; Dan McNeil; Craig Pittman; and Mireille Rigaux.
