‘A’ boys win tournament

The Willow Creek Composite High School junior high “A” boys’ basketball team swept through their home tournament, with three wins to take the championship.
The Cobras hosted teams from Pincher Creek, Vauxhall, and Bow Island for the one-day tournament on Saturday, Jan. 25.
Claresholm opened with a 41-19 win over Matthew Halton High School of Pincher Creek.
Scoring for the Cobras were Cody Ellis with 10 points; Grayson McClung with eight points; Omar Dunkley with five points; Luse Chisanga and Vincent Okeke with four points each; and Ryker DeJong, Korbin Demaere, Youssef Ehab, Arlen Johnston, and Dominic Judilla with two points each.
Claresholm then defeated Vauxhall, in their closest game of the tournament, by a score of 56-51.
Scoring for the Cobras were Dominic Judilla with 15 points; Youssef Ehab with 10 points; Luse Chisanga and Korbin Demaere with eight points each; Cody Ellis with six points; Omar Dunkley with four points; Arlen Johnston and Vincent Okeke with two points each; and Rafa Rafa Kuswoyo made a foul shot.
Claresholm wound up their tournament with a perfect 3-0 record, after defeating Cherry Coulee Christian Academy in their final game by a score of 65-18.
Scoring for the Cobras were Omar Dunkley with 16 points; Cody Ellis with 14 points; Luse Chisanga with 11 points; Vincent Okeke with seven points; Korbin Demaere and Arlen Johnston with six points each; and Luan Buan scored five points.
