Claresholm Social Centre starting eight ball pool league
By Rob Vogt
Anyone interested in playing pool, is invited to check out the new pool tables at the Claresholm Social Centre and learn about the new league being formed.
The social centre will be hosting an open house on Oct. 24 and 25 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., where everyone can check out the pool tables and the new lighting, learn about the league, and register for it. The bar will also be open.
The eight-ball pool league play starts Oct. 28, with the ladies’ league running on Monday nights, while the men’s league will run Tuesday and/or Wednesday nights, for a total of 10 weeks.
Each night will have 10 players, divided into two divisions of five players each.
This is all subject to the number of registrations received, so everyone interested is asked to pre-register.
The registration fee is $50 that can be e-transferred to claresholmsocialcentre@gmail.com (no dashes or spaces).
Terry Mahoney and Charlie Milazzo are organizing the league, and they invite everyone to come out to the open house, to see what the league is all about.
Mahoney said the league will be a chance to welcome people of all ages to the social centre.
“It’s a wonderful place,” he said.
Milazzo concurred.
“It is a social centre for the whole community of all ages,” he said, adding the pool league is open to everyone.
“It will be a great opportunity to move the whole community into the centre.”
Anyone interested in more information, or registering for the league can contact Terry Mahoney at 587-433-4567 or e-mail him at terry86@shaw.ca.
