Chinook Junior Stock Show a success

The 2024 Chinook Junior Stock Show was another success, attracting more than 200 children and youth from Alberta, Saskatchewan and B.C. and more than 250 head of cattle.
The show took over the Claresholm Agriplex on Wednesday, April 3, with a total of 205 participants showing 72 purebred heifers, 77 commercial heifers, and 103 steers, for a total of 252 head of cattle.
The winners were:
Pee wee showmanship
• Champion, Ava Mackie, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan;
• Reserve champion, Gentry Harvie, Olds, Alberta.
Junior showmanship
• Champion, Myra Murray, Tilley, Alberta;
• Reserve champion, Chick Harvie, Olds, Alberta.
Intermediate showmanship
• Champion, Nevada Murray, Tilley, Alberta;
• Reserve champion, Kurt Yaremko, St. Paul, Alberta.
Senior showmanship
• Champion, Emily Yaremko, St. Paul, Alberta;
• Reserve champion, Taylor Reid, Hafford, Saskatchewan.
Purebred heifer
• Champion, Earley Queen Ruth 9L, Colby Symens, Claresholm;
• Reserve champion, Brooking Rose 3011, Nevada Murray, Tilley, Alberta.
Commercial heifer
• Champion, Reids Annex 166L, Taylor Reid, Hafford, Saskatchewan;
• Reserve champion, Jsul Pcc Total Girl, London Matthews, Olds, Alberta.
Steer
