Claresholm and District Chamber trade fair coming to arena this weekend
By Rob Vogt
It will be a chance to see a variety of goods and services all under one roof.
The Claresholm and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting their Trade Fair on Friday, April 28 from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year the trade fair moves to the Claresholm Arena from its old space at the Claresholm Community Centre.
Admission is $2 per person or by food bank donation.
So far, about 40 vendors have registered including financial services; photography; personal wellness; clothing; real estate; insurance; home cleaning; fitness; toys; career services; and more.
There will also so be non-profit organizations such as Inclusion Foothills; the museum; and the Girl Guides who will be selling cookies.
“It’s nice to see a balance of local and non-local (vendors),” said Sheila Karsten administrative assistant for the chamber, who is planning the event.
There will be a silent auction, with prizes including a $100 gift certificate and a Pit Boss Six-Piece Cast Iron Starter Kit.
Back this year is the passport to prizes.
People who come through the door receive a passport.
The passport contains the names of participating vendors at the trade fair.
People then take their passport and visit each booth to get their passport stamped by the participating vendors.
Once they have all the stamps, their completed passport is entered into a draw for cash prizes.
A concession will also be open, featuring the New Fox.
Karsten invites everyone to come out to the first trade fair since 2020.
“See what the new products are, visit the different vendors, get information,” she said.
It is also an opportunity to see people you may not have seen for awhile.
“Visit with the community,” Karsten said. “People enjoy visiting with their neighbours.”
Table and booths are still available, but going fast. Anyone interested in having a booth in the trade fair can phone 403-468-8043.
