Taylor, Helen

March 23, 1935 ~ April 2, 2022
Our friend Helen Taylor passed away peacefully at the Claresholm General Hospital on April 2, 2022.
Helen was born, the youngest of three girls, to James Warren and Margaret (Smith) Warren on March 23, 1935, in Vegreville, Alberta. Her father moved the family a number of times, from Lloydminister and eventually to Black Diamond where she and her sisters grew up.
Helen loved cats, especially the tri-colour ones. Helen was a lot of fun, spunky and always full of ideas. She loved card games, especially Crib, Canasta and Scrabble. Helen was a faithful minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses, serving full-time before and after she and Barry were married.
The Taylor’s resided in Rocky Mountain House and made many good friends there. Barry and Helen volunteered to learn French and moved to Quebec. After several years family obligations called them to return to Rocky Mountain House. They also lived in Calgary, and Fort Macleod. In 1991 they purchased a home in Claresholm.
Barry passed away in July 2020. Helen resided in their home until January 2022, when she was transferred to the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre.
Helen is survived by her niece Linda (Brad) Cloutier of Salt Spring Island, Barry’s nephews Ian (Barbara) and Andrew (Sandy) and their families in England.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses and staff of the Claresholm General Hospital and the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre for their many acts of kindness and for the care and comfort given to Helen.
A memorial for Helen will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 by video conference. If you wish to attend, please contact Brad at 403-625-0145 or Carol at 403-360-6191.
