January 23, 1928 – February 22, 2022
Sam Schlaht of Claresholm, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the age of 94 years.
Sam is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ila, of 70 years; daughters, Darlene (Ben) Hoglund and Cheryl; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Sam served the community of Claresholm in a variety of occupations from being a farm labourer to working at Crown Lumber, Soby & Smith Grocery, L.E Smith Service Station, to Sammie’s Snack Stop. He worked at the Bellevue Post Office as a postmaster for 6 years and then as a postmaster in Coleman for 6.5 years and returned back to Claresholm in 1991.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donation can in Sam’s name can be made to the Claresholm Health Foundation, Box 363, Claresholm, AB, T0L 0T0.
