William (Bill) Roos passed away March 20, 2022, at the age of 87 with his family by his side.
Bill was born on January 2, 1935, in Brunssam, Limburg, The Netherlands. Bill and Ann immigrated to Red Deer in 1957 on their honeymoon. They moved to Claresholm in 1967 when Bill obtained his Steam Engineering 3rd Class ticket, and he was employed at the Claresholm Care Centre until his Parkinson’s interfered.
Bill enjoyed many hobbies, camping, photography, his miniature railway, exploring the back roads of Alberta and cruising. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his wife of 65 years, Ann, his children Helen (Vernon), Anita (Randy), grand-children Gary (Stephanie), Lane (Sheila), Ashley (Kellen), Brett (Chelsea) and great-grandchildren Milo, Gracie, Declan, Vann and Avery. He was predeceased by parents, numerous siblings and great-granddaughter Evelyn.
The family would like to thank the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre staff for all their loving care over the past 8 years.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church (4304-2 St West, Claresholm, AB) on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society (Parkinson Association of Alberta, 120, 6835 Railway St SE, Calgary, AB T2H 2V6).
