RCMP investigate thefts of catalytic converters

The RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in finding those responsible for the recent thefts of catalytic converters in Claresholm and Nanton.
The police issued a release on Jan. 21 stating earlier that same day Claresholm RCMP responded to Alberta Auto Glass and Accessories located at #9 South Saskatchewan Crescent in Claresholm for a report of a theft of catalytic converter. Investigation confirmed that a catalytic converter was removed and stolen from a 2012 Ford Econoline Van.
On Jan. 13, Nanton RCMP responded to the Nanton U-Haul depot located at 2505 – 20th Avenue in Nanton for a report of a theft of catalytic converter.
The investigation found a catalytic converter was removed and stolen from a U-Haul truck sometime the prior evening.
RCMP have responded to multiple similar thefts of catalytic converters from the same location in recent weeks including on Dec. 13 and Dec. 17, 2021.
RCMP continue to actively investigate these incidents and are asking for the public’s assistance with any information in relation to these incidents.
