It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilma who was a great sister, friend and community member.
She is predeceased by her father Arie Williamson in 1984, her mother Maria in 1987 and her husband Dirk Deboer in 1998.
She is survived by her brother John Williamson.
Wilma was born in Fort McLeod. She went to school in various places like Granum, Dorothy Gooder School in Lethbridge. She also went to school in Red Deer.
Approximately 30 years ago, she moved to the Stony Plain area and was supported by Rehoboth Christian Ministries.
Wilma was a very friendlily lady who would talk to anyone who would lend her their ear. She loved animals and would greet every animal she met. Wilma had a cat named “Spook” (the name fit) who was her companion for many years. Wilma will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her community. A special thanks to all of her friends at Rehoboth Christian Ministries. A place where she was loved and cared for. Many thanks to the Hospital staff in the Covid ICU at the Misericordia Hospital for their care of Wilma in her last days. Wilma is now in a better place resting with her Lord.
A funeral service will be held at the Granum Christian Reformed (CRC) at a later date. Due to Covid restrictions, the service will be videoed and available for viewing after the service has taken place on the Cranum CRC Youtube.
Any donations in memory of Wilma can be made to Rehoboth Christian Ministries (Stony Plain).
