Breaking 4 for A-T
Crystal Olive ran from Fort Macleod to Claresholm on April 29, a distance of 42 kilometres, to raise money and awareness for Ataxia-Telangiectasia, or A-T, which is a rare genetic disease her son Alex has. She covered the distance in under four hours, reaching her goal, and raised more than $15,000 with money still coming in. That amount will be matched meaning she raised more than $30,000. Counterclockwise from top left, Olive sets out from Fort Macleod; runs in the valley on her way out of Fort Macleod on her way to Highawy 2; approaching Claresholm on Highway 2; meanwhile Alex and his whole class wait for his Mom to arrive at West Meadow Elementary School; Alex holding up a sign of support for his mom; and Alex and Crystal Olive after she completed her run.
