Trade expo this weekend
It will be a chance to see a variety of goods and services all under one roof.
The Claresholm and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Trade Expo and Consumer Fair at the Claresholm Community Centre this Friday, Jan. 31, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Tony Walker is chair of the organizing committee.
He said there will be 50 booths with 45 vendors. A total of 18 of those vendors will be attending the expo for the first time.
They offer everything from beauty products, retirement living to ladies designs and much, much more.
There will also be non-profit organizations with booths such as the Claresholm Animal Rescue Society, and the lodge room will have vendor tables as well.
“It’s a wide variety,” Walker said.
There will be a concession as well.
Back again this year is the popular “Passport to Prizes”.
“People can win cash prizes,” Walker said.
It works like this.
The first 200 people who come through the door receive a passport.
The passport contains the logos of 16 participating vendors at the trade expo.
People then take their passport and visit each booth to get their passport stamped by the participating vendors.
Once they have all 16 stamps, their completed passport is entered into a draw for cash prizes.
There will be a draw at the end of each day. First prize each day is $100 and second prize is $50.
Walker emphasized that only the first 200 people through the door each day can receive a passport.
“So come early and stay long,” he said.
Admission to the trade expo is $2 or a non-perishable donation to the Claresholm Food Bank.
Walker invites everyone to come down to the Claresholm Community Centre and check out the annual trade expo and consumer fair.
“We are expecting beautiful spring weather so there’s no reason not to show up,” he said.
“It’s a good opportunity to network and see people they haven’t seen for awhile.”
