June 1, 1931 – June 24, 2020
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the Family of Richard (Dick) Doyle McPeak, announce his peaceful passing on, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre at the age of 89.
Richard was the first of 3 children born to Doyle & Elma McPeak in Nanton, AB on June 1st, 1931.
He attended school in Parkland, AB, where his family lived east of Parkland.
Every year his family would attend the Calgary Stampede where they would ride their Palamino horses in the Parade. It was there that his interest for being a professional cowboy started. Richard was known for raising, training, and selling horses, combined with his love and dedication for the sport of rodeo.
Richard always had a smile on his face with a joke to tell. He lived life to the fullest and always made family his first priority.
His family is left behind to mourn the loss of a beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa, and Friend.
He will always be remembered as a true cowboy…
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to an association that Richard and the family were big supporters of and contributors to: Stavely Pro Rodeo Association/Stavely Ag Society – P.O. Box 187, Stavely, AB, T0L 1Z0
At Richard’s request, a private Family gathering will take place. A Memorial Bulldoggin’/Calf Ropin’ in Richard’s memory also will be held at a later date.
