It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather Ken Risbey on
July 31, 2020 at the Claresholm General Hospital.
Ken was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 23, 1945. Ken met and married his wife Jean of 55 years in Manitoba. Here, sons Michael and Robbie were born. Ken moved his family to Alberta to work as a lineman for ACE Construction. After numerous moves the family settled in Stavely where daughter Launa was born. Ken earned his Journeyman Power Electrician Ticket in 1974 and worked in this field for 43 years. Ken was fortunate to work with both his sons on the lines. After retirement Ken enjoyed his summers at the lake golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Hilda Garbutt Risbey in 1970 and Thomas Edward Risbey Sr. in 1981. He was also predeceased by two sisters Edna and Leslie in 1943, brother Fred in 2002, sister Evelyn in 2004 and Thomas Edward Jr. in 2019. On July 4, 2020 Ken was unexpectedly predeceased by his son Robbie.
Ken is survived by his wife Jean; son Michael (Karen); grandson Ryan & granddaughter Nicole of Calgary; daughter Launa (Korrie) Deering of Claresholm; grandson Joel White; 5 brothers: David, Clifford, Dawson, Arnold and Richard as well as one sister, Rhoda.
A private family service will be held at a later date to celebrate the lives of Robbie and Ken.
