Fair Days chili cook-off coming

Everyone is welcome to enter their best chili for the community to sample in a cook-off on the Fair Days weekend in August.

At its July 17 regular monthly meeting at Casa Roma Pizza and Steakhouse, the Claresholm and District Chamber of Commerce members decided to go ahead with a chili cook-off on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Individuals and teams are encouraged to enter their chili and put it to the community test. Entry deadline is August 2.

It will cost $20 to enter a chili, it must be in a slow cooker, and the winners, to be chosen by a panel of judges and by people’s choice, will receive prizes.

Everyone is welcome to come to the downtown parking lot to sample the entries, select the winner, and stay for an evening dance.

There will be an admission charge, chili will be served at 5 p.m. until it’s gone, and the music starts at 5:30 p.m. Beer gardens, by the Skate Park Assoc. will be open for the event as well.
