Biever number one in Canada after first-ever PBR win

It was a big night for a local bull rider in Dawson Creek. Logan Biever, 21, of Claresholm won PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Dawson Creek on Saturday night, Nov. 30, and in the process vaulted to the number one spot in Canada. Biever started the event, produced by Claresholm native Chad Besplug and Lyons Production Services, with a score of 85.5 on the bull “Diesel”, good enough for second place. He followed that up in the championship round with a score of 89.5 on “Big City Nights”, giving him perfect two-for-two night and a total score of 184.5. It was Biever’s first ever PBR event victory. Since it was the first event of the 2020 season, Biever is now the number-one ranked rider in Canada, 80 points ahead of Thor Hoefer of Idaho, who finished second at the Dawson Creek, BC event. Biever’s first-ever PBR victory comes on the heels of a strong performance at the 2019 PBR Canada Finals in Saskatoon on Nov. 22 and 23. Biever stood in second place after the first round, again going two-for-two. He turned in a score 85 in Round 1 on the bull “Throwin’ Shade” then rode “Firebeatz” to a score of 86.5 in Round 2 for a total score of 171.5, o Nov. 22. However, Biever ran into tougher competition on Nov. 23, bucked off both bulls in the final two rounds to finish seventh overall in the event. The results put Biever 13th overall in the final standings.
