‘Caught by Christmas’ coming next weekend
By Rob Vogt Local Press Writer
SUCH Drama wants to help get you into the Christmas sprit with a 45-minute show next week. Stavely’s Unique Character House (SUCH) drama group is putting on “Caught by Christmas” at Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday, Dec. 7, with shows at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The play is written by Sharlee and Erica Glenn and directed by Stavely’s own Jill Cook.
The story is classic Christmas time fair. It’s almost Christmas, and the kids in Mr. Grump’s class are itching for some holiday spirit. Mr. Grump will not have anything to do with this. Miss Jingles’ class is in full swing with Christmas cheer and makes a plan to help Mr. Grump and his class get caught by the magic of Christmas before it’s too late!
The play is being put on by SUCH Drama’s fall production class, so some of these actors have never been on stage before.
The cast consists of: • Alec Harrison; • Lauren Billey; • Kaleb Cook; • Belle McEachen; • Jude Harrison; • Ember Cook; • Zoe Billey; • Bree Van Langen; • Tessa Kroening; • Emilea Harrison; • Katelyn Braun; • Delaney Husted; • Mary-Ann Toone; • Makenzie Dozeman; • Misaki Tanoue; • Andrew Allain.
The class is intended to build confidence and self-esteem for students new to the stage, who are mentored by some familiar faces. Cook encourages everyone to come out to “Caught by Christmas”.
“Bring your family, get caught in the spirit of Christmas,” she said. “It’s a fun, family night out.”
The evening will also include a fundraising opportunity for Kieth Carlson for the back surgery in Germany he needs. Tickets are $5 each for people of all ages and available at the Claresholm Local Press, UFA in Nanton, and the Stavely library.
