RCMP investigate stolen fifth-wheel trailer
The Claresholm RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a trailer that was stolen recently.
At 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, Nov. 25, someone stole a 43-foot long 2014 XLR Thunderbolt triple axle cargo holiday trailer with gray decal package parked at the Claresholm Welding storage yard.
The trailer has clips on the exterior for weather proof skirting and a white scuff on the passenger side nose of the trailer. One tire rim is also different from the rest.
Brand new, the unit has an estimated value of $140,000.
The suspect may have been driving a silver or white Ford F-350 crew cab with a bush guard.
Landon Flynn, the owner of the trailer, suspects the crime was well-planned out.
Security cameras reveal the thieves took about 15 minutes from entering the locked yard to leaving with the trailer.
They cut the lock then, before leaving, replaced it with another lock.
The trailer also seemed to be the target, because other items that could have been taken were left behind.
Anyone with information on this crime, or any other, is encouraged to contact the Claresholm RCMP at 403-625-4445 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) for a reward.
