April 9, 1949 – June 29, 2018
Barb was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Al and June Martin. They soon moved to Guelph Ontario so that Al could attend veterinary medicine.
Once he graduated, they moved back to Alberta, living in Lethbridge and Fort Macleod where she graduated from high school.
Barb was a very bright student and was awarded the governor generals medal for math.
She then moved to Edmonton where she attended the University of Alberta and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. She also later earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Calgary.
In her late 20s Barb found she had wandering feet. She travelled the world for a year and a half which was a highlight in her life. Barb was content with the simple things in life and enjoyed nothing more than sharing a glass of wine or a beer with her friends or surrounding herself with her beloved pets while she watched every CFL game.
Barb was predeceased by her mother June, her sister Donna (Rick), and her brother Brian. She is survived by her father Al, her sister Lori (Dave), sister in law Pat, and her nieces and nephews – Jennifer (Rich), Mike (Vicki), Andy, Chrissy, Megan, and Daniel.
A Celebration of Barb’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 41 (414 – 53 Avenue East, Claresholm) on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 3:00 P.M.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Barb’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
