High school to raise funds for student, family

Willow Creek Composite High School staff and students are banding together to help one of their own.
Ben Gilmour, the 16-year-old son of Richard and Desiree Gilmour, was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin Lymphoma and has been undergoing treatment.
There are a lot of expenses health care does not cover, so the school is undertaking two fundraisers.
The first is a Movember challenge, where staff members are growing their “best” moustache.
They are collecting pledges and invite the community to sponsor one of the staff members.
Community members are also welcome to donate money to the cause directly.
The other fundraiser is a bake sale taking place at lunch hour on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the school’s common area.
Anyone who wants more information on how they can help out, can contact JoAnna Sutter or Alysa Fisher at Willow Creek Composite High School at 403-625-3387.
Sutter said the reason they are holding these two fundraisers is simple.
“So some of the financial stress can be taken off at a stressful time,” she said.
