Cobra girls win Nobleford tournament

The Willow Creek Composite High School senior varsity Cobras volleyball team continued their winning ways this past week capped off with a convincing tournament championship in Nobleford.

The Cobras travelled to Nobleford for a tournament held on Sept. 21 and 22.

They ran the table, winning all 12 sets they played to earn the tournament championship.

The Cobras also had a dominant performance at home on Monday night, Sept. 17, when both senior and junior varsity teams swept Piikani Nation Secondary School.

The senior Cobras won by scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-14, to take their match 3-0.

The junior Cobras also had a strong outing, winning their match 3-0 by scores of 25-22, 25-8 and 25-19.

The next home game for the Cobras is Thursday, Oct. 4, when St. Michael’s of Pincher Creek comes to town.

The junior varsity game starts at 6 p.m. with the senior game to follow.
