Farmers market closes

It is the end of an era – for now.
Barbara Uhl, manager of the Claresholm Farmers Market, announced last week there will be no market this year.
Uhl has been there from the beginning.
For 41 years, the market has offered fresh vegetables, baking, and more on Wednesday afternoons in various locations including the arena, downtown parking lot, museum grounds, and most recently downtown Amundsen Park.
However, Uhl could not find vendors to come to the market this year, citing they have chosen other market options as a reason.
“We’re saying goodbye for the summer,” she said.
Uhl did not rule out trying again next year with the farmers market if she can find vendors.
