Badminton under way at high school
The birds have been flying at Willow Creek Composite High School as both the junior high and high school badminton seasons are well under way.
The junior high zone qualifiers were in Lethbridge on April 12, with the following teams attending:
• Boys singles, Cody Ellis and Jaxson Smith.
• Boys doubles, Liam Schuler and Harry Cui; Brady Slovak and Rafa Kuswoyo; and Walker Smith and Dominic Judilla.
• Girls singles, Claire Turcotte Smith and Vanessa Sukchana
The league results were:
Under-13
• Eva Sun, fourth.
Under-14
• Claire Turcotte Smith, first in girls singles;
• Vanessa Sukchana, second in girls singles;
• Dominic Judilla and Walker Smith, third in boys doubles;
• Gabe Perricelli, fourth in boys singles;
• Ivey Simpson and Hayley Mackin, fourth in girls doubles.
Under-16
• Chloe Stonehouse and Maya Sabey, third in girls doubles.
• Harry Cui and Liam Schuler, first in boys doubles.

All qualified for zones in Medicine Hat on April 16.
