Cobras football (of all ages) starting
By Tim Bryson WCCHS Cobras football team
It was a busy week at the Snake Pit last week, as all three Cobra football teams began fall camp.
Both peewees and bantams have numbers in the low to mid 20s, which is good for their 9-a-side teams.
The Willow Creek Composite High School Cobras are down a few players from the spring and will need to add a few more players to make the 28-player minimum for 12-a-side. Right now, the high school team is at 27, so we’ll take as many as want to come out.
The peewees had a great start to the season last Saturday, Aug. 24, as they played in a scrimmage jamboree in Cardston. They defeated Cardston and lost to Coaldale in their two matches.
The bantams play their first league game at the Snake Pit this Saturday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m.
The high school Cobras’ first live action is a controlled scrimmage against Brooks at home on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.
If you are interested in playing, check the Claresholm Cobras Facebook page for peewee and bantam, or contact Tim Bryson (team manager, at 403-682-9649, via text) for high school.
