Cuddler bed comes to general hospital

cuddler bed - The Claresholm and area Palliative Care Committee recently purchased a cuddler bed from proceeds generated by its annual Christmas Cruise and Tree of Hope campaign. The bed can be made from a single to a double bed so a person nearing the end of life can have a loved one crawl in beside them to provide comfort. When someone is near the end of life, it can be reassuring to have a loved one crawl in beside them in bed to comfort them.
Often that is not possible, when the usual hospital bed is made for one person.
The Claresholm and Area Palliative Care Committee has changed.
They have used the proceeds raised through their annual Christmas Cruise in the Centennial Park campground and the Tree of Hope campaign to purchase an Ook Cuddler bed.
The cuddler bed is designed to expand from a single to a double bed and be made longer as well. It also has a weight limit of more than 1,000 pounds.
This enables a loved one to crawl in beside a patient with added comfort and security.
The cuddler bed recently arrived at the Claresholm General Hospital, accompanied by three quilts made by Jenny Root (née Stange), a Claresholm native who currently lives in Fort Macleod.
