It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Donna Elizabeth (Booker) Hoffman, born September 28, 1936, share the news of her passing on February 11, 2024 in Fort Macleod, AB. Donna leaves behind her sons: George Eyre and John Eyre. She was predeceased by her late husband Wilfred Hoffman, and son Vernon Eyre. Donna was the last living child of the late Ridgeway and Mary Belle Booker family of Swift Current,SK. Donna fondly boasted of her ‘Adopted Daughter, who adopted her’ Becky (Dave) Housenga and their children.
Donna is well known for her love of activity. She was often seen walking all over town with her late 7-pound Mexican Chihuahua “Rex”. Donna figure skated until well into her sixties weekly, swam several times a week healing her broken shoulder fully. Donna loved taking trips and going on adventures. Many memories were told of skiing, camping, and travelling all over North America with her husband and boys. Cypress Hills, SK has a very special place in her heart. Her stories were full of funny antidotes and colourful tales of trials. Donna’s strength and determination were evident as she battled cancer, healed broken bones, strengthened her body regularly, until her body got tired. She had a wonderful support network within Fort Macleod, especially right on her block. Please know she appreciated and loved everyone who made time to chat, have tea and assist her with more difficult tasks. Donna will be missed and fondly remembered. She is now back in the arms of Wilfred, where she longed to be.
At Donna’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation entrusted to Zentner Funeral Homes, Claresholm.
