Claresholm RCMP investigating break-in at downtown business
By Rob Vogt
The Claresholm RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in finding those responsible for a recent break-in at a downtown store.
On July 10, the police issued a release stating on the morning of Monday, July 4, Claresholm RCMP responded to a break and enter at the Dollarama in Claresholm.
The suspect entered the back of the business and attempted to circumvent the alarm system, causing damage to property.
It is believed the same suspect attempted to enter the Fas Gas in Claresholm around the same time, but were unable to gain entry.
If any individuals or businesses have any information or video footage that may show the suspect around the back of the Dollarama between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on July 3 and 2 a.m. on July 4, they are asked to please contact the Claresholm RCMP.
Over the past few months there has been an increase in break and enters to local business during late night and early morning.
Claresholm residents are asked to be on the lookout for anyone roaming around the back of the businesses late at night or early mornings.
If anyone would like assistance on better securing their property or business, please contact the Claresholm RCMP detachment to speak to a member.
Claresholm RCMP would like to take this opportunity to promote other ways in which the people of Claresholm can assist the RCMP in preventing crime.
One opportunity is to volunteer with Citizens On Patrol or the Rural Crime Watch. If anyone requires further information on ways to assist, contact Claresholm RCMP at 403-625-4445.
