Bench show yard and garden deadline approaching
By Rob Vogt
As the Claresholm and District Bench Show fast approaches, the deadline has been extended for people in town and the country to enter their yards and gardens.
Syd Gray, president of the Claresholm and District Fair Days Bench Show, said they have extended the deadline to Thursday, July 20.
This will give ample timing for judging in town and the surrounding area.
The bench show is an opportunity every year, for people to enter their best baking, art, crafts, photography, and much more in various categories to be judged and prizes awarded.
Always held during Fair Days weekend, this year’s bench show is Aug. 11, 12, and 13 at the Claresholm Community Centre.
The categories are outlined in a catalogue which is available at select locations around town and is on the town’s website at www.claresholm.ca.
Click on “Tips for visitors” then “Local culture & history” then “Claresholm Fair Days” to access the catalogue.
The price of tags for entries to the bench show will remain the same at $1 for juniors and $2 for adults.
