It is with great sadness that the family of Dennis Arden Fath announce his passing on March 29, 2023 at the age of 79 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sheryl, daughter Christine (Darren), son Carter (Amanda), as well as four grandchildren, Keanna, Brady, Kamden and Griffin who affectionately called him “Pa”.
Survivors include Arden’s sister Betty (Brian) Glasgow of Innisfail, brother Gordon (Holly) of Mayerthorpe, sister-in-law Margaret of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Arden was predeceased by his brother, Terry, his parents Benno and Stella as well as two nephews James and Trent.
Arden was born in Claresholm and spent his early years at Finnegan and Priddis before moving with this parents to Stavely. He met his wife of 55 years while attending school in Stavely. They were married April 1, 1967 and have lived in Stavely all their married life.
Arden worked for a number of years for Safeway Shelter Systems in Claresholm until it closed. He also worked many years at the Stavely Auction Market. Arden purchased land from his father-in-law at Parkland and gradually started to farm and raise cattle. He particularly enjoyed his cattle and we remember a friend remarking that when he comes back in his second life, he wanted to come back as one of Ardie’s cows. Favourite times were helping gather and trail cattle from the Livingstone and riding at the Waldron Ranch checking his cows.
Arden was active for a number of years with the Stavely Rodeo Association and was a member of the Stavely Elks Lodge. He played fastball with the Stavely Men’s Fastball team and enjoyed reminiscing about these good times. Yearly camping trips with friends and family brought many fond memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stavely Community Centre – 5101 52 St, Stavely, AB, on Monday, April 10, 2023
at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arden’s memory to the Stavely Rodeo Association, Box 187, Stavely, AB T0L 1Z0.
