Rachel Pronyshyn, a lifelong teacher of Claresholm, Alberta passed, peacefully at the age of 77 at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre.
Rachel will be missed and lovingly remembered by her sister Betty Sewall (Ian), son Andrew Pronyshyn (Shelly) and her three grandchildren Brendan, Chantel and Chris. Rachel was predeceased by her daughter Julie Pronyshyn.
Rachel was born May 16, 1943 in Brooks, Alberta to Hansen and Lillian Brunn. She went to the University of Lethbridge to complete her Bachelor of Education and become a teacher. She taught in Claresholm, Stavley and various surrounding colonies. Rachel touched the lives of many through her time as a teacher.
In her own time, Rachel loved to sing in the choir and play the organ at the church. She had a passion to share her love and talent of music with others, and so, Rachel taught students piano and vocal lessons. Music meant so much to her. Rachel also adored her cats. She always had a furry family member in her life. Travelling brought Rachel joy, and she particularly enjoyed travelling to Denmark to return to her Danish roots.
