The Claresholm RCMP responded to a suspected bomb threat at Willow Creek Composite High School last week, that had the entire school evacuate to the Claresholm Community Centre.
In the end, it turned out to be a false alarm.
The Claresholm RCMP reported that on Jan. 30, at 11 a.m., they responded to a report of a bomb threat at Willow Creek High School.
The threat was written on a bathroom stall.
The building was quickly evacuated and RCMP, with assistance from sheriffs and peace officers, searched the entire building.
The threat was deemed to be false.
Claresholm RCMP is now investigating a public mischief.
Public mischief is a criminal offence which includes misleading the police to initiate an investigation, which is what happened on Jan. 30.
It was noted that incidents such as this cause panic among the innocent and a misuse of emergency resources, and if those responsible are located, they will be held responsible.
The investigation continues.
