Under-18 Thunder blast Lethbridge

The Claresholm Under-18 Thunder won in convincing fashion in their lone game in Central Alberta Hockey League Tier-3 action on the weekend.
The Thunder travelled to Lethbridge on Saturday, Dec. 13, coming home with a 10-3 victory.
The Thunder took control early, scoring twice in the first period to lead 2-0 after 20 minutes, then scored four more times in the second period to extend their lead to 6-1 after 40 minutes.
Claresholm had first period goals from Seannon Ocampo on the power play, assisted by Jace Flitton; and Flitton, assisted by Cody Tompkins.
Second period goals came off the sticks of Tompkins, unassisted; Grayden Desjarlais, assisted by Ocampo and Kashtan Beutler; Desjarlais, assisted by Beutler; and Flitton, assisted by Josh Gibson-Morrison.
Beutler made the score 7-1 with an unassisted goal four minutes into the third period, followed by Carson Ring scoring short-handed from Beutler two minutes after that to make the score 8-1.
Lethbridge finally responded to make the score 8-2, but Claresholm put the game away on goals from Ryan Van Langen, assisted by Flitton; and Flitton, assisted by Tompkins, to up the Thunder lead to 10-2.
Lethbridge would get one goal back with less than a minute to play, making the final score 10-3 for Claresholm.
Goaltender Finn Buhmiller turned aside 16 shots to earn the win in net for the Thunder.
