Under-11 Thunder win two tiering games

The Thunder hosted Kainai on Saturday, Oct. 25, winning by a score of 20-6. Scoring for Claresholm were Tegan Riley with four goals and three assists; Lincoln Groves with four goals and an assist; Corbin Moyer with two goals and an assist; Xander Herman and Houston Thom with a goal and two assists each; Heath Flynn and Stanley Thompson each with a goal and an assist; Lukas Chaykowski, Carter Dow, Raiden Dunlop, Alexander Laygo, Canyon Slade and Kyden Vandervalk with a goal each; Emett Preachuk with two assists; and Carter Zentner with an assist.

The Thunder were back on the ice on Sunday, Oct. 26, where they defeated Pincher Creek by a score of 11-0. Scoring for Claresholm were Kyden Vandervalk with five goals and two assists; Heath Flynn with three goals and two assists; Lincoln Groves with two goals; Stanley Thompson with a goal; and Lukas Chaykowski, Raiden Dunlop, Corbin Moyer, Tegan Riley, and Houston Thom.

Tiering is the set of games to determine the league each team will play in. It is intended to ensure competitive balance, that is that teams playing each other are of roughly equal skill level.
