Speaker discusses transforming the individual and government
By Rob Vogt
Transforming the structures of democracy begins by transforming the individual.
That was one of the messages Donald Lee, an author, economist and teacher, brought to an event at the Stavely Community Centre on Saturday, July 5, hosted by the local chapter of the Alberta Prosperity Project.
Lee said he started his third career in 2019 as a spiritual author, after being working in the fertilizer industry and teaching.
In December of that year he published his first book. In January and February of 2020 he travelled Alberta speaking about, signing and selling his book.
He had planned a cross-country book tour for March – then the world changed with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.
By 2023, he was travelling across Canada talking to freedom groups.
He then turned his attention to “The Way Forward”, his latest book, and how everyone is currently in a war.
Lee describes the three types of warfare – psychological; spiritual; and fifth generation warfare.
He said the way forward is a journey of awareness and transformation.
Awareness is understanding what’s going, including the nature of warfare.
Transformation is transforming ourselves and communities.
Lee said in war, usually one side wants to transform their adversary so they no longer want to fight.
In this war, he explained, everyone has to transform themselves so they are no longer threatened by their adversary.
“If we want things to change, it begins by changing our minds,” Lee said.
He noted Alberta independence is thought of as a political decision, when he sees it as war, and not really political. Until that is accepted and understood, the problem cannot be solved.
Lee said what is going on is unrestricted warfare as the Chinese calls it, and fifth generation warfare as the United States calls it. This is a war of the totalitarian deep state versus the rest of the world.
He pointed out if there is any hope of success the strategies, tactics and weapons being used must be understood in order to defeat them.
The war is not a fight against people but ideas and ideology.
Lee said he was going to discuss one social structure, government, pointing out all are being weaponized against us.
He suggested there is a need to create a new form and structure of government. When that is done, the adversary will have lost all power.
Lee asked why is the idea of Alberta independence now in the mainstream media? He said it is because the deep state wants to destroy Canada, and all nations, and create one world order with one government.
He cited several examples from history where this happened including the Scottish Clearances. In that case, it wasn’t enough the Scots were defeated, but the idea of Scotland was eradicated as well.
Lee said this is why decisions of government are non-sensical. For example, the decision to battle climate change, or climate fraud as he characterized it, makes no sense politically.
Why destroy oil and gas production, the country’s most important national industry, because it makes no sense politically.
But this is war, Lee said, and the goal is to destroy nations.
He said parliament no longer makes decisions, citing the example of Canada increasing its defence spending to five per cent of gross domestic product, which he said is a decision of NATO not Canada.
Lee cautioned Alberta independence could mean replacing a tyranny from Ottawa with a tyranny from Edmonton. He noted the deep state has its tentacles in all government, and Alberta seceding from Canada plays right into their hands.
That’s why, Lee said, the form and structure of government needs to change.
“We need to re-think and re-create democracy,” he said.
What’s needed, he continued, is 1776 thinking.
He was referring to the United States in 1776, when the Americans were living under a tyranny, and needed to create new structures and form of government. However, he said even that has been corrupted.
Lee said a bottom-up not top-down structure is needed. This is a structure recognizing the sovereignty of the individual, family and community. Freedom and responsibility need to be pushed down to the lowest form, which is the individual.
However, Lee said, most people want to be taken care of, evident by their fear of losing their pensions or health care if Alberta separates from Canada.
“No one took our freedom away, we gave away our freedom when gave away our responsibility,” Lee said.
He stressed we must transform ourselves before transforming government.
Lee observed most Canadians are afraid of personal responsibility, but they must be convinced a war is on. Otherwise it will be death by default.
He said the mission is to start serious, real discussions about the form of government.
Alberta must secede, Lee said, but it must restructure government.
The future lies in decentralizing power, and in being honest. Democracy cannot exist without being honest.
“People cannot make wise decisions based on lies,” Lee said. “We must begin with honesty about everything.”
“Our fate is in our hands, we need to create our own destinies,” he later added.
Lee then discussed the transformation of the individual. When that occurs they will be focused on personal responsibility; cooperation not competition; the consciousness of love not power; and on service to others.
The new structure of government, he said, must have the individual as its basic unit then the family and community. There must be personal responsibility, because maximum responsibility means maximum freedom.
