Sinclair, Margaret Ann

Margaret Ann Sinclair (nee Sky) age 82, of Stavely, AB passed away on May 31, 2025, at the Calgary South Health Campus.
She was born on April 1st, 1943, in Edmonton, AB and adopted by Harry and Agnes Sky to raise as their own. The family spent the first 6yrs at Brule, AB where Harry ran the planer at the lumber mill, then moving to Rocky Mountain House so she could attend school. Margaret excelled at sports and academics, qualifying for provincials in Basketball and Nationals in Bowling.
She married William (Bill) Sinclair on April 15, 1961, soon welcoming first a boy, Harry William, then a girl, Theresa Mariea to their little family. They arrived in the Nanton area in 1966, just in time to experience being snowed in during the blizzard of 1967. They moved to the Stavely area by 1969. Margaret got a job at Safeway Shelter Systems to help the small family, working there until it closed. Unfortunately, life happens and Bill and Margaret went their separate ways in the early 70s. Margaret eventually bought her little place in Stavely, and with her son’s help built the garage that would become her upholstery shop until 2020, when with failing eyesight, she had to call it quits. Margaret was a huge Blue Jays fan, loved her curling, was an avid gardener, berry picker, loved camping with her family and, it turns out, fishing!
Margaret is survived by her longtime partner Robert (Bob) Armstrong, children Will (Jean), Theresa (Don), grandchildren Shanin, and Sharmain. Great grandchildren Monique, Tyson and Augustine, great-great grandchildren Hunter and Ryder. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Agnes, her daughter Margaret Ann and great granddaughter Jerrica Sue Clarke. The service will be a private family function at a later date.
A very special thank you to both Gwenn Broomfield and Irene Yorgason for their devotion to Margaret in the last few years. And finally go outside, feel the sun, touch grass, smell the flowers, plant a tree and know that I am free at last.
