RCMP arrest individual with drugs, firearms

The RCMP have charged a resident of Claresholm with several counts of possession of firearms and drugs.
The police issued a release on March 10 stating that on Feb. 18, 2025, Nanton RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle east bound leaving the Town of Nanton on Highway 533.
Nanton RCMP stopped the vehicle and located a subject operating the vehicle known to police. Subsequent checks of the subject male determined the driver was not permitted to operate a motor vehicle and the vehicle was not registered or insured.
As the officer approached the vehicle, a firearm was observed in plain view. The subject was arrested.
A search of the suspect and his vehicle resulted in the seizure of:
• More than 18 grams of methamphetamine;
• A .22 calibre rifle;
• A large quantity of stripped copper wire;
• Break-in tools including a balaclava, and two-way radios;
• A restricted empty rifle magazine;
• Approximately 600 rounds of ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, Jaden Ross Vincent, 28, a resident of Claresholm has been charged with:
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
• Possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ ammunition in a motor vehicle;
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
• Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Schedule I : methamphetamine.
Vincent was released to attend the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Macleod on March 26, 2025.
Items recovered from this incident have been linked to a break and enter in the Claresholm area.
