Junior high boys win

It was a successful road trip to Fort Macleod for the Willow Creek Composite High School junior high “A” and “B” boys basketball teams, as both returned with wins.
The Cobras paid a visit to F.P. Walshe on Tuesday, Jan. 14, where the “B” boys needed overtime to secure a 52-46 win.
Scoring for the Cobras were Laiken Sabey with 21 points; Dexter Martin with 13 points; Blake Baker with 12 points; and Alex Hildebrand, William Leishman and Cole Visser with two points each.
The “A” boys also had a close game, prevailing over the host Flyers by a score of 32-31.
Scoring for Claresholm were Grayson McClung with 12 points; Cody Ellis with eight points; Korbin Demaere, Youssef Ehab, and Dominic Judilla with four points each.

Junior high girls drop two

It was a night for the Willow Creek Composite High School junior high girls’ basketball teams.
Both the “A” and “B” teams hosted games on Tuesday, Jan. 14, losing both of them.
The “A” girls, made up of Grade 8 and 9 players, lost to Kainai High School by a score of 57-22.
Scoring for the Cobras were Berlyn Smith with eight points; Ruth Leishman with six points; Aria Centola with four points; and Mahi Patel and Hendrix Robichaud with two points each.
The “B” girls, made up of Grade 7 and 8 players, were in tough as well, dropping a 65-11 decision to Tatsikiisapo’p Middle School.
Scoring for Claresholm were Chloe Stewart with nine points and Abbi McClung with two points.
