Junior boys take league championship

The Willow Creek Composite High School Cobras recently won the Deep South Conference basketball junior varsity championship.
The Cobras defeated Immanuel Christian in the league final on Saturday, March 8 at Chinook High School in Lethbridge.
The game went back and forth with 11 lead changes, before the Cobras earned the 72-61 victory.
Trailing 32-30, Immanuel Christian went on a 10-2 run to take the lead, and were up 44-41 at halftime.
However, the Cobras came out strong in the third quarter seizing a 64-59 lead, then went on an 8-0 run to pull away.
The Cobras outscored Immanuel Christian 24-15 in the fourth quarter to put the game away.
The Cobras pulled down 46 rebounds, with Briggs Baker leading the team with nine rebounds. He also led the team with seven assists, while Syler Sabey led the team with five steals.
Baker lead the Cobra scoring with 24 points; Jax DeJong had 18 points; Henry Leishman had nine points; Logan Hurlburt had eight points; Andrew Clark had six points; Easton Wright had four points; Rylen Guitton had two points; and Syler Sabey had one point.
