Community, schools hold Remembrance Day services

Remembrance Day services will take place at area schools and the community the first part of next week.
The Claresholm service will take place in the Claresholm Community Centre on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with doors opening at 10 a.m. and the service starting at 11 a.m. sharp.
The service will be emceed by Leonard Weiss, president of Claresholm Branch No. 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion, and feature the colour guard from the Royal Canadian Legion, two minutes of silence, prayers, the playing of “Reveille”, the laying of wreaths, and much more.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and the Legion will be open after the service with coffee and donuts.
There will also be a service in Granum.
The service will be held Nov. 11 starting at 10:45 am in the Granum School.
Coffee and doughnuts will be served following the service.
The services at the schools are all on Monday, Nov. 10, as follows:
• West Meadow Elementary School, starting at 10:30 a.m., and all parents, guardians and community members are welcome to attend.
• Willow Creek Composite High School, starting at 11:15 a.m. and running to 12:05 p.m. Air Force veteran Ken Anderson will be the guest speaker.
• Stavely Elementary School, starting at 10:30 a.m.
• Granum School, starting at 10:40 a.m.
