4-H district communications contest

The Willow Creek 4-H District has determined its champions in prepared speeches and presentations.
The district held its communications contest at Granum School on Saturday, Feb. 8, and the following winners were determined:
Junior presentation
• First, Jase Guitton, Claresholm Beef Club, with “Snap, Crackle, Pop’; second, Brook Vang, Stavely/Parkland Beef Club, “A One Night Hike”; and third, Scarlett Pittman, Claresholm Beef Club, “Eruptions, Lava, and Fun”.
Junior speeches
• First, Avery Walker, Stavely/Parkland Beef Club, “My Favourite Singer”; second, Myrah Slettede, Claresholm Beef Club, “A Girl’s Best Friend”; and third, Brody Bishler, Fort Macleod Beef Club, “Race for Space”.
Intermediate presentations
• First, Claire Habraken, Stavely/Parkland Beef Club, “What if Agriculture Disappeared?”; second, Avry, Paige, and Kennedy Vandervalk, Claresholm Beef Club, “Being a Mechanic’s Daughter”; and third, Madisyn Daley, Claresholm Beef Club, “Branding”.
Intermediate speeches
• First, Alexis Way, Claresholm Multi Club, “Pixels of Influence”; second, Katie Spencer, Stavely/Parkland Beef Club, “Put Down Your Phone and Connect”; and third, Mark Penner, Claresholm Beef Club, “Where Were You When the World Stopped?”.
Senior presentations
• First, Mini Habraken, Stavely/Parkland Beef Club, “Farm to Fame”; and second, Josh Penner, Claresholm Beef Club, “Intro to Trades”.
Senior speeches
• First, Faye Todd, Stavely/Parkland Beef Club, “Respect: Is it a Lost Virtue”; second, Rylen Guitton, Claresholm Beef Club, “Energy in Alberta”; and third, Sophia Busmann, Fort Macleod Beef Club, “Breaking Barriers in Autism and Animal Science”.
